Fraud Squad to Offer Counseling

South Central Los Angeles homeowners are invited to take advantage of a free program every Monday, Wednesday and Friday designed to alert them to fraud in the purchase of home improvements and home repairs.
Investigative staff from the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer Affairs are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 7807 S. Compton Ave., Los Angeles, to offer counseling to homeowners who have problems as a result of a purchase they made for their home or who may be facing foreclosure.
Those who prefer to telephone may call (213) 586-6508 during the same hours or (213) 974-1452, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
