Golden West Women Sweep, Win Volleyball Title

Golden West, the top-ranked women’s volleyball team in the state, defeated Kings River, 15-6, 15-8, 15-9, for the championship of the Sequoias tournament Sunday in Visalia.
Golden West Coach Albert Gasparian recorded his 200th victory earlier Sunday in a three-game sweep of Sequoias. In 10 seasons at Golden West, Gasparian is 201-28.
Heather Flaherty and Becki Gehlke each had nine kills in the title match for the Rustlers (20-0), who have won 55 consecutive matches.
