Mexican Mexican Food: Competitor Taco Bell in Irvine is not so secretive about its plans for Mexico City. The company’s first Mexican endeavor, a taco kiosk, has proved so popular that the restaurant chain is going to open several more.
The free-standing, 8-foot-by-10-foot kiosks are being used to peddle Mexican versions of Taco Bell’s Americanized Mexican food. In Mexico, the menu includes 81-cent tacos and $1.45 burritos.
