Re “U.S. Companies Must Follow the Asian Example and Invest More in Their Future” (Frank Gibney, Opinion, Nov. 1): A Japanese-American friend of mine inadvertently pointed out the differences between our cultures.
He is 76 years old and was ecstatic when he made a trip to the nursery and obtained the seeds for an orchid. It will bloom in five years!
Most of my friends and I worry about how long the fast-food drive-up line will be.
