Once again, the true spirit of humankind has raised its ugly head. From the time “witches” were burned at the stake to when Ryan White was not allowed to attend public school, our ugly, prejudiced, ill-informed selves again win out over hope, tolerance, education and compassion.
Magic Johnson embodies everything that is best in the human spirit, but even Magic could not overcome this ugly specter of the human heart.
