In another Marmonte League game:
Agoura 21, Royal 20-- With 32 seconds on the clock, kicker Ryan Campbell’s 31-yard field-goal attempt missed wide left to preserve an Agoura win at Royal.
Agoura (5-4, 3-3) overcame a 14-0 halftime deficit behind the running of Scott Mitchell, who carried 41 times for 253 yards and two touchdowns. Mitchell’s second touchdown with little more than five minutes remaining gave the Chargers their first lead at 21-20.
Agoura had tied the scored, 14-14, near the end of the first quarter on a one-yard plunge by quarterback Jason Warren after marching 62 yards in 11 carries. However, Royal running back Mike Streeter took the ensuing kickoff 92 yards to go up, 20-14. The extra point was blocked.
The first half was all Royal (3-6, 2-4). Running back Mike Reddington scored the game’s first touchdown on a 27-yard run from scrimmage midway through the first quarter.
