Pasadena : Parcell Pleads Not Guilty

Charles Parcell, head of security for the Pasadena Unified School District, has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of filing a false police report in relation to the disappearance of a district computer, said Terrence J. Bennett, Parcell’s attorney.
A pretrial hearing has been set for Jan. 11 in Pasadena Municipal Court, Bennett said. Parcell was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, but when prosecutors appeared in court, they learned that Bennett had been allowed to enter his plea Nov. 3.
Authorities allege that Parcell removed a $1,800 computer from the district’s special education department, then hid it and filed a police report declaring it stolen after employees discovered it in his possession. The computer was later recovered from a trash sack in the security office.
