ANAHEIM — Three men who allegedly burglarized 12 businesses by knocking out alarm systems and boring through walls have been arrested, police said Wednesday.
Police said they searched the men’s homes and found televisions, VCRs, clothing, computer components, videotapes, musical and sound equipment and firearms worth about $50,000.
Capt. Randall Gaston said investigators think the items came from stores in Anaheim, Orange, Placentia, Norco, Riverside and San Bernardino.
Among those arrested are Jerry Patrick Hughes, 23, of Anaheim, David Lee Mabry, 22, of Riverside, and Ronald Dean Fichtner, 34.
Hughes was arrested after police received a call from an Anaheim resident who suspected that a motorcycle parked outside an apartment complex had been stolen. Police, who determined that he was right, arrested Hughes as he started to leave on the motorcycle.
The other two were arrested the next day.
Investigators working the case said burglars disarmed alarm systems, then moved from store to store by tunneling through dividing walls.
