COMES NATURAL: Mary E. Howell, a Huntington Beach accountant, was recently named International Woman of the Year by a research group that puts out Who’s Who books. On the speakers’ circuit, she urges women to get involved in business. . . . “Women are really better at business,” she says, “because organizing comes natural to us. We’re taught to care about detail.” As further proof, she says, she’s seen a lot of men in small businesses who can’t read a balance sheet.
