ON THE REBOUND: Former Loara High School star Tes Whitlock is expected to start tonight when Arizona State in Tempe hosts an Australian team. Whitlock, who set the county’s single-game basketball scoring record with 68 points in 1990, sat out last season as a Prop. 48 student but is eager to return. . . . “I missed the competition,” he said. “I’m a ‘prime-time’ player who feeds off the crowd and the exposure.” Whitlock, a sophomore, credited ASU Coach Bill Frieder’s wife, Janice, with helping him adjust to college’s academic workload.
