Ralphs Grocery Posts Loss: The privately held Los Angeles-based supermarket chain reported a net loss of $58.6 million for the third quarter ended Oct. 11, after accounting for an extraordinary after-tax charge of $55.8 million reflecting costs associated with debt refinancing. Excluding extraordinary items, Ralphs reported a $2.8-million loss for the quarter, down from a loss of $8.8 million during the year-ago quarter.
