THE LAST WORD: A coalition of Grateful Dead fans calling itself Deadheads Against Discrimination has raised money to erect a billboard in Denver protesting the recent passage of Colorado’s Initiative 2, which overturns anti-discrimination ordinances dealing with sexual orientation. The billboard will be up Wednesday and Thursday outside McNichols Sports Arena, where the Dead is playing those days.
The board features the familiar Dead skull logo, but with an inverted pink triangle (the symbol for gay rights) replacing the usual lightning bolt. Using a line from the song “Uncle John’s Band,” it reads: “Ain’t no time to hate--Undo 2.”
