Police on Monday identified a man stabbed to death in his apartment Sunday as Nghia To Phan, 44.
Anthony Paul Koudssi, 27, who was arrested after reportedly fleeing Phan’s apartment, will be arraigned today in Municipal Court in Westminster, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Charles Poe said. Koudssi will be charged with murder and possibly breaking and entering, Poe said.
Police responding to a 9:34 a.m. call of an attempted break-in at the Woodlake Apartments, 6100 Edinger St., found Phan lying face down in his ground-floor apartment, where he lived alone.
Koudssi allegedly fled through a window as police entered Phan’s apartment. Koudssi was later apprehended at an apartment complex around the corner.
Poe said investigators are still seeking a motive for the killing, but believe Koudssi and Phan may have known each other.
Koudssi is being held without bond at Huntington Beach Jail.
