Chairman of MCC Research Firm to Leave: Microelectronics & Computer Technology Corp. said Craig I. Fields, chairman and chief executive, will resign June 1. No successor has been chosen and Fields did not name his next employer, said Cynthia Williams, an associate at the Austin, Tex., technology research complex. William C. Norris of Control Data Corp. founded MCC to promote research collaboration among U.S. technology companies. Fields, a former director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, was recruited as MCC chairman in 1990. His predecessors, retired Adm. Bobby Ray Inman and Grant A. Dove, built MCC into an alliance of more than 70 companies with a budget of $70 million.
