Fluor Profit Up 23%: The Irvine-based company reported better operating results in its core engineering and construction work and at its A.T. Massey coal business. For the first fiscal quarter ended Jan. 31, Fluor profit totaled $44 million, or 53 cents a share, compared to $36 million, or 43 cents a share, during the year-earlier period. Revenue rose 14% from $1.8 billion, to $2.1 billion.
