CAMARILLO : Passenger Killed as Car Is Hit Broadside

A Camarillo woman died Thursday when the car driven by her husband was broadsided as they turned left at a busy Camarillo intersection, officials said.
Helen Cavanaugh, 68, died as firefighters tried to extricate her from the passenger side of the car, police said.
Charles Cavanaugh, 74, who sustained internal injuries, was turning left from Lewis Road onto Adolfo Road about 3 p.m. Thursday when the car was hit broadside by a vehicle driven by Ann O’Grady, 36, of Camarillo, police said.
O’Grady was not seriously hurt, officials said.
No citations have been issued, authorities said.
