Lever Bros. to Close Plant, Union Says: Lever Bros. Co. told employees on Friday it has ceased production at its City of Commerce plant and will eventually shut it down, said Scotty McAulay, president of International Chemical Workers Union. About 60 of the 285 workers will work through the shutdown process of the plant, which makes soaps and detergents, he said.
