Pepperdine 3, Cal State Fullerton 2--First baseman David Newhan hit a three-run triple in the bottom of the seventh off reliever Chad Rolish to lead Pepperdine (9-9) past Fullerton, which is ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball.
In Big West Conference softball:
Long Beach State 5-2, Cal State Fullerton 2-8--Traci Fisher hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to blow open the second game and lead Cal State Fullerton (7-11, 1-1). Trinity Johnson struck out nine for her second victory.
