Turner Says He May Branch Into Movie Theaters: Cable operator Ted Turner said he hopes to invest in the movie theater business, but analysts expressed skepticism that partners Time Warner Inc. and Tele-Communications Inc., which own portions of Turner Broadcasting System Inc., would approve. Turner owns six movie theaters in the Atlanta area. He said he has committed about $500 million to movie production and marketing and plans to invest about $1 billion over the next few years.
