A weeklong sports camp for disabled youths begins March 29 at Saddleback College.
The event, which is free for youngsters between 7 and 18 years old, is the 14th annual camp sponsored by the National Foundation of Wheelchair Tennis.
The camp will provide instruction for beginners and the more advanced in tennis, basketball, track and field, archery, aquatics, road racing and physical conditioning.
Camp officials said the program is designed for those who have good use of their upper bodies and possess self-help skills.
All the athletic instructors are disabled athletes and will serve as both counselors and role models for the campers, according to camp officials.
The daily camp hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a free lunch is included. Free bus transportation to and from the camp is also provided.
To enroll a child or sponsor a camper, call (714) 361-6811. Camp applications are due by Tuesday.
