Scholarships Available to Study in Japan

Applications for the 1995 Japanese Government Scholarship for American graduate students to continue their research in Japan are available at the Japan Information & Culture Center, Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles.
The scholarships, administered by the Ministry of Education (Monbusho) were established to contribute to mutual understanding and cooperation between Japan and foreign countries, including the United States.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, under the age of 35 as of April 1, and have a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university or college. The scholarship will cover transportation to and from Japan, all school fees and a monthly stipend. The term of study is two years.
The Consulate General will accept applications from qualified residents of Arizona, New Mexico and the following counties in California: Imperial, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo and Ventura.
