AT&T;, Lotus in Networking Deal: American Telephone & Telegraph Co. and Lotus Development Corp. launched a new networking product through which businesses can sell electronic services, such as on-line newsletters and electronic mail. The service, called ATT Network Notes, incorporates Lotus’ Notes software on AT&T;’s long-distance telephone network. Analysts say the new service lets AT&T;’s traditional network deliver the new age of multimedia information and will steer more traffic to AT&T; while boosting Lotus’ revenue. Lotus and AT&T; also plan to target businesses that want to create companywide networks to connect employees at various offices and their homes. Lotus shot up $5.75 to $85.50 on Nasdaq and AT&T; rose 75 cents to $53.50 on the NYSE.
