The new Cleveland Indians’ ballpark, built in part with a county-wide tax on tobacco products, will prohibit smoking in all seating areas. Smoking at Indians Park will be limited to six areas that do not have direct views of the playing field.
The Atlanta Braves say they will pay Ron Gant $901,639.20, or 30 days’ termination pay, rather than trying to pay him none of his $5.5 million contract. The Braves released the injured outfielder Tuesday. Gant broke his right leg in a dirt bike accident Feb. 3.
