Patching Things Up

How unfortunate that Jan Herman and I miscommunicated on my feelings about my hometown, Burbank, in “Getting Their Words’ Worth” (Feb. 27). I had hoped no one would notice.
For me, my remark about “forgetting” I was born and raised there had to do with the shots Burbank has taken from “Tonight Show” hosts and other NBC comics, a circumstance Burbank residents have had to endure for decades. I like Burbank, and wouldn’t say so if I didn’t.
Besides Patricia McCarthy’s kind letter last Sunday, I received several concerned-to-angry “what goes?” calls. The most severe was from my mother. Oy.
