Reception Planned for Rampart Police

The Westlake-Pico Union Community Improvement Council will hold a free reception Thursday to welcome new command personnel and patrol officers in the Police Department’s Rampart Division and to honor officers who have been working with the community to improve safety.
The reception begins at 3 p.m. at the Park Plaza Hotel, 607 S. Park View St., and will feature representatives from several city agencies and departments offering updates on community services.
The council is coordinating the efforts of groups in the two neighborhoods and wants to share ideas on safety and improving conditions for businesses and residents, said organizer Lauren Bryant.
