BRIEFLY : Scholarship: Music Awards Finalists

Two Westside students have been named finalists in the sixth annual Music Center Spotlight Awards.
Los Angeles residents Ryan Smith and Alpin Seung-Hi Hong will perform March 29 during the final competition.
Smith, a student at Hamilton Academy of Music, will compete in the opera category. Hong, who attends Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, will compete in the classical instrumental category.
Finalists were selected from auditions of more than 600 students. The competition showcases students ages 14 to 18 in the categories of ballet, jazz/modern dance, opera, musical theater vocal, jazz and classical instrumental music.
The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. Tickets are $10. Information: (213) 972-8079.
