Industrial Production Figures Adjusted Upward: The Ministry of International Trade and Industry said industrial production rose slightly more in January than previous data indicated. The revision of production, shipments and inventory figures by the ministry adds weight to the view that Japan’s economy is pulling out of a long recession. Output at Japan’s factories grew a revised 1.0% in January, instead of the earlier estimate of 0.9%, the ministry said. Production of machinery, particularly computers and semiconductors, boosted output, a ministry official said.
