Planned Center to House Environmental Firms

A center offering reduced rents and other assistance to start-up companies in the environmental field is scheduled to open in Thousand Oaks this summer.
Numerous entrepreneurs have inquired about moving into the facility, reports Mike Murray, a spokesman for GTE California, which is making a building available as the center’s initial home.
The center, known as the Thousand Oaks Environmental Business Enterprise Cluster, is being backed by GTE, the city of Thousand Oaks and the Center for the New West, a public-private partnership that will operate the facility. Similar projects are planned in San Diego and San Jose, Murray said.
