Billingsley Quits as Barons’ Coach

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Coach Gordon Billingsley, who led the Fountain Valley boys’ basketball team to the Sunset League championship this season, has resigned, Athletic Director Mike Henigan said Monday.

“He wanted to spend more time with his family,” Henigan said.

Billingsley, The Times Orange County’s Coach of the Year, had just completed his fifth season as the Barons’ head coach. His teams were 64-65 and won one league title.
