2 Tri-Cities Directors Still Draw Benefits
- Share via
* In the article “Past Grand Juries Gave Warning of Potential for Abuse at Water Districts” (March 22), a misleading statement was made with reference to the elimination of each director’s approximate $500 monthly health benefits package by Tri-Cities Municipal Water District.
The change in district policy to eliminate these benefits will become effective in January, 1995, and will apply to all newly elected or reelected directors (voted 3-2). To date, two of the current directors (Board President William Mecham and Treasurer Craig Strickland) continue to take full benefits--Blue Cross, Delta Dental and Vision Care--for themselves and families over the protests of most of the district’s constituents.
