I was offended by the comments made about the British in “India’s Portugal” (Feb. 22).
For some reason, Barry Zwick doesn’t seem to like the British very much. Maybe he had some personal differences with them on his trip or maybe Mr. Zwick is like the typical American abroad--loud, excessive and a spendthrift. That would surely make him unpopular with my fellow countrymen.

Regarding “India’s Portugal”: I have never read a travel article that made me not want to go to the destination being written about more than this one. Why would any woman want to go somewhere that has government-sponsored “leering expeditions” at their beaches? I for one don’t need to go all the way to India to get leered at. It happens right here in L.A. as I go about my daily business, fully clothed.
