Water Polo
Carnahan, a driver from Capistrano Valley High, scored the winning goal in overtime as Saddleback upset top-seeded Orange Coast, 7-6, in the championship game of the Orange Empire Conference water polo tournament. He had five goals in two other tournament victories.

Smith, from Sparks (Nev.) Reed High, scored twice in two games to set the Cypress single-season scoring record at 24. Smith, a transfer from Pacific, tied the previous mark with a goal against Santa Ana in a 9-0 victory Wednesday, then set the record with a goal in a 6-0 victory over Riverside Friday.

* Golden West, sophomore. She scored 10 goals in two games as the Rustlers won the South Coast tournament.
