Artists Beat Mustangs for Tournament Title

Spencer Dornin scored four goals as seventh-ranked Laguna Beach defeated No. 6 Costa Mesa, 11-6, to win the North Orange County boys’ water polo tournament Saturday.
The Artists (16-7) avenged a 10-9 loss in Wednesday’s game that decided the Pacific Coast League title. Saturday, they had a two-goal lead entering the fourth quarter and pulled away.
Evan Lutz scored three goals and Travis Buck had seven saves for the Artists. Todd Hylton scored three goals for Costa Mesa.
In other tournament games:
Servite 9, Marina 8 (OT)--Johnson Tominaga scored the winning goal with 1:06 left in overtime for Servite (16-10) in the fifth-place game.
Katella 8, Whittier La Serna 5--Jeremy Janton scored four goals as Katella won the consolation final. Haziel Ortega had five saves and Scott Cutler had three saves for the Knights (18-8).
Garden Grove 16, San Bernardino Cajon 5--Brandon Osborne and Tom Lane each scored four goals in a consolation victory for Garden Grove (19-7). Teammate Jeff Colton had three goals. Colton also scored five goals in an earlier consolation loss to Buena Park, 9-7.
