The Jewish Federation/Valley Alliance and Hadassah Southern California will continue their ongoing Women’s Social Awareness lecture series Thursday with the panel discussion “City of Angels: The Dream and the Reality.”
Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard C. Parks, Police Commission President Edith Perez and City Councilwoman Laura Chick will discuss public safety, public policy, violence and crime and its impact on Angelenos.
The series is designed to strengthen ties among Jewish women and to better educate them on issues affecting their community.
Numerous topics will be covered throughout the series, including politics, education, women’s health issues and Jewish spirituality, organizers said.
The second lecture in the yearlong series is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Stephen S. Wise Temple, 15500 Stephen S. Wise Drive. The session costs $20 in advance and $24 at the door. Men and women are invited.
