Villa Park Sweeps League Tennis Titles

Villa Park finished 1-2 in singles and doubles in the Century League girls’ tennis finals Tuesday at the Ridgeline Tennis Club in Orange.
Senior Katey Becker defeated freshman teammate Arpi Kojian, 6-3, 6-0, to win the singles title and Claire Gries and Ann Kleinhenz won the doubles title with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over teammates Jasmine Cheung and Tiffany Cheung.
Kojian reached the final with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Croatian exchange student Morena Jovisic of Santa Ana Valley.
In Division II boys’ water polo:
Buena Park 17, Saddleback 8--Tyler Ray scored six goals and Jason Arakaki had four for Buena Park in a wild-card game at Buena Park High.
The Coyotes (16-12) will play Pacific Coast League champion Costa Mesa in the first round Friday at Costa Mesa.
In the other Division II wild-card game:
Cypress 17, Los Amigos 2--Harold Chun scored six goals and Brad Reymond had four for Cypress (15-12), which travels to Los Alamitos for a first-round game Friday.
