One bicyclist was killed and another critically injured in separate accidents early Saturday, police said.
In Westminster, 27-year-old Harley Williams weaved into traffic on Garden Grove Boulevard, near Melanie Lane, about 1:40 a.m. and hit a pickup head-on, police said. A friend told officers Williams had been drinking, police said.
At 8:20 a.m. Saturday, a 64-year-old bicyclist was riding on Coast Highway near Jamboree Road when a Honda sedan hit him. Stanley Pagenkopf of El Toro was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he was in critical condition. Investigators do not know what caused the accident, and they are continuing to investigate.
The drivers were not cited in either incident.
