OXNARD — Authorities on Sunday identified a 26-year-old Nyeland Acres man as the person stabbed to death during a weekend street fight.
The Ventura County coroner’s office said Felipe Angel Flores was pronounced dead in the emergency room at St. John’s Regional Medical Center at 7:46 p.m. Saturday. Flores had been stabbed once in the chest, the coroner’s office reported.
Oxnard police found Flores lying on the ground near a Texaco gas station at Rice Avenue and Ventura Boulevard after receiving a report of four people fighting about 7 p.m.
Police said that two men fled in a two-tone vehicle and that Flores was assisted by an unidentified male, who left the area before officers arrived. That person is wanted for questioning, police said.
Oxnard police had not made any arrests in the case by Sunday evening, and asked that anyone with information call Det. Tim Lumas at 385-7760.
