Rancho Santiago Outlines Its Goals

Trustees of the Rancho Santiago Community College District have adopted a new vision statement, outlining their goals for the 1997-98 academic year.

Santa Ana and Santiago Canyon colleges, the statement says, “will lead the state in student retention and transfer rates. . . . The colleges will initiate and participate actively in partnerships with other educational providers and with business and industry. They will enhance their communities’ cultural and educational well-being and support legislation that expands access to education for students throughout the state.”

The goals include continuing to improve job opportunities for students, increasing retention, graduation and transfer rates, seeking alternative funding sources to develop the colleges, promoting a positive working environment for employees and expanding partnerships with businesses, universities, schools and other government agencies.
