City Plans to Hire Firm for Candidate Search
- Share via
City officials have decided to hire a firm to conduct an executive search for a new city administrator after the departure of longtime administrator Michael T. Uberuaga last month.
The firm, Hughes, Perry and Associates of Sea Ranch, Calif., will conduct the search at a $15,000 cost to the city.
Officials said applications would be sought from as many as 800 potential candidates before the number is pared down to a dozen or fewer who will be interviewed by the council.
The list of finalists should be available to the council in about four months, and the City Council is expected to make a final selection a month later.
The firm has been employed by the city in the past for the recruitment of the police and fire chiefs.
Ray Silver, the acting city administrator, will be among the finalists considered for the post.
