La Canada High will be seeking its...

La Canada High will be seeking its first Southern Section water polo championship in 18 years when the Spartans take on two-time champion Bell Gardens in the Division III title tonight at 7 at the Belmont Plaza pool in Long Beach.

Bell Gardens defeated La Canada, 7-5, in the Bell Gardens tournament final earlier this season and beat the Spartans, 12-11, in a nonleague game a month ago.

Girls’ volleyball: Southern California Regional, first round, Div. II--At 7 p.m., Sanger at Westlake. Div. IV--At 7 p.m., El Cajon Christian at Flintridge Sacred Heart, St. Bonaventure at Bakersfield Garces. Div. V--At 7 p.m., Cornerstone Christian at San Diego Francis Parker.

Boys’ basketball: City Section--At 4 p.m., Sherman Oaks CES at Venice, Canoga Park at Chatsworth.
