Hospital Directors Ousted From Board

The dispute over the proposed sale of Queen of Angels-Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center to a commercial chain heated up over the weekend as two medical staff leaders who opposed the transaction were kicked off the board of directors.
Medical staff President Dr. Moneim Fadali and President-elect Dr. Santos Uy were cut from the board Saturday after a half-hour “emergency” telephone conference in which they were criticized for suing the board and for disclosing information about the sale to the state attorney general’s office, Fadali said Monday. The vote was 11-2, with Fadali and Uy dissenting, Fadali said.
A hospital spokesman declined to comment, except to confirm that the two doctors’ memberships had been terminated.
