Holiday Closings

Thursday is Thanksgiving. The following schedules will be in effect for the holiday and the day after:
* City, county and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Federal offices will be closed Thursday only.
* County, state and federal courthouses will be closed Thursday. On Friday, federal courts will be open for emergency filings, but county and state courts will be closed.
* City and county libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday, except the Newport Beach City Library, which will be open Friday.
* Banks and savings and loans will be closed Thursday.
* Schools: Orange County public schools, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, Chapman University and all community colleges will be closed Thursday and Friday.
* Mail: There will be no mail delivery Thursday. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
* Trash: There will be no trash collection. Pickups will be a day late for the rest of the week, except in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Orange, Placentia, Villa Park and Yorba Linda. In those cities, only Thursday trash pickups will be delayed.
* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a holiday schedule. Buses will run less frequently, and there will be no service on some routes. Call (714) 636-7433 for details.
* Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities will be open during regular hours.
