Tree-Lighting, Ice Rink Opening Friday

Lions, tigers, singer Pat Boone and New Age musician Kitaro will help kick off the the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday at Universal Studios.
That event will be followed by the premiere performance of the L.A. Circus and the opening of the outdoor ice-skating rink on Universal’s CityWalk.
The big-top show features a 7-year-old Hula-Hooper and the Guinness Book of World Records’ entry for foot-juggling.
The L.A. Circus is scheduled to make more than 100 performances through January at the 500-seat arena on CityWalk.
Ticket cost is $10 for general admission and $7 for children.
The ice rink, now in its fifth year, will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
Skating costs $6.50 for a one-hour session and skate rental is $2.50.
