Van Raaphorst Expects to Play in Bowl

Quarterback Mike Van Raaphorst, who sat out the final two games of USC’s regular season because of an ankle injury, said Tuesday he expects to return for a probable Aloha Bowl appearance.
“Definitely,” said Van Raaphorst, a redshirt freshman who took over the job from sophomore John Fox eight games into the season and started two games.

USC football--Linebacker Michael Pollard, expected to enroll at USC in the second semester, is from Long Beach Poly High. His school was incorrectly identified Wednesday.

Michael Pollard, a highly regarded linebacker from Long Beach Wilson High who did not meet USC or NCAA academic requirements in the fall, is expected to enroll for the second semester after achieving a qualifying score on the ACT.
