City Charter Reform Panels Schedule Public Meetings

Two public meetings on Los Angeles city charter reform will be held next week.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Elected Charter Reform Committee on Responsiveness of Government will hear a presentation by Leo Estrada, a professor of demographics at UCLA’s School of Social Policy. He will speak on reapportionment, demographics and community boundaries.
The 6 p.m. meeting is at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power building, 111 N. Hope St., Los Angeles Room (cafeteria level). Information: (213) 977-6700.
On Wednesday, appointed officials with the City Charter Reform Commission will discuss ways in which Westside residents would like to improve the rules and structure of city government. The 6 p.m. session will be at the Westwood Recreation Complex, 1350 Sepulveda Blvd. Information: (213) 367-5234.
