Night ‘Recon’ Duty at Arizona Resort

Night reconnaissance at the golf course? The posh Boulders resort in Carefree, Ariz., insists you’re likely to see more than wayward golf balls during its new “night vision excursions.”
For $45 per person, hotel guests get to strap on night-vision gear, developed for the military, that amplifies the scarce light and turns the world green. Then you and your party, up to five, hike the golf course with a guide for about 90 minutes, on the lookout for coyotes, rabbits, scorpions and other creatures, according to program manager Amy Suzanne Wilson. Information: (800) 553-1717.
