Man Hit, Killed by Metrolink Train

SYLMAR — A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking on the tracks Thursday evening, authorities said.
The man, described only as about 45 or 50, was near San Fernando Road and Astoria Street about 7 p.m. when he was hit, said Jim Wells, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details were available.
