I am very proud to be served by such men and women as are members of our Thousand Oaks and Ventura County fire and sheriff’s departments.
A few days ago a home on Hendrix Avenue was almost destroyed by fire. The heroic (and I do not use that word lightly) efforts of two officers saved the life of an elderly, bedridden lady.
The firefighters arrived quickly and fought the fire with their usual courage and professionalism.
I especially want to commend them for their tenderness and kindness in the way they treated the victims of this fire and for their efforts to protect what few possessions they had left from the elements.
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. This is truly a great place to live with you around.
