Spy Suspect Out on Bail Returns to Israel

A suspected Israeli secret agent flew home after being released on bail over an alleged bungled wiretapping mission in a home on the outskirts of the capital, Bern. Swiss investigators finished questioning the suspect, who has not been publicly identified, and accepted the Israeli government’s promise that he would return to face trial. Switzerland received a “significant financial bond” before freeing the man, who was nabbed with four others in February as they allegedly planted a wiretap in an effort to eavesdrop on a Lebanese man.
