Undercover Los Angeles police officers arrested more than 140 drug dealers at high schools in 2001 through the LAPD’s School Buy program, department officials said.
Officers enroll in schools through the program, which was established in 1974. They then make drug purchases on and around their campuses. Ninety people were arrested at the end of the spring semester; police arrested 58 others in December.
